NaPoWriMo 2016 Day 6

Words hang

languid and purple,

ripe with

who did what to whom.

The tink tink tink

of a teaspoon

against a tumbler

of sweet tea.

The rocker’s complaints

against the grain of the wood.

It was all too much.

I let the screen door snap

behind me.
